  • Note that we are looking for people who have engaged in the pursuit of engineering, but not necessarily only people who have attained a title of "engineer".  Engineering is something people do, generally with teams of people who identify with different careers. Some of the questions on this form will refer to engineering, so if you do not hold the title of "engineer," please think of it in this sense.

    • Identity
    • For many years technical careers were off-limits to certain people based on factors related to their identities. Role models for youth are especially important when groups have been excluded and are subsequently underrepresented. To help youth find role models with whom they can identify, we will ask you to reflect on your own identity and share as much as you comfortably can.

      Reflect:
Please start by reviewing an identity wheel. You may look at the linked version from the United Way or choose another version that you may have seen before. Think about (or write down) which memberships are appropriate for you in each identity grouping. While thinking about your own identity, please consider which of your identities most influence how you see yourself and which most influence how others see you. Also consider how each of your identities has influenced your career choices and trajectory.
