The City of Sun Prairie's Forestry Division has spent the last several months developing its draft Urban Forestry Management Plan, which can be found in the PDF below.
This plan will play a pivotal role in making data-driven decisions regarding the urban forest. Its purposeis to outline the objectives, policies, and actions necessary for effective urban forest management. It will include a range of recommendations and best practices covering things like tree planting, maintenance, preservation, storm response, and sustainable practices.
The draft plan was developed through a comprehensive analysis of the City's tree inventory, current policies and practices, a public input survey, and several stakeholder meetings.
Prior to its adoption by the Sunn Prairie Parks, Recreation & Forestry Commission and subsequently City Council, we are seeking feedback from community members and stakeholders.
