Requirements for Taking the NAHP Exam:
Test Location Restrictions:
- The exam must be taken in a suitable, well-lit room.
- No testing is allowed in locations such as:
- Beds
- Sofas
- Outdoors
- Automobiles
- Public areas
- Bathrooms
- No one is permitted to be in the room or enter it during the exam.
Work Surface Requirements:
- Students must have a suitable work surface, which includes:
- Desk or Table. [Lap desk, folding desk, and standing desks are acceptable]
Work Area Restrictions:
- The following items or activities are prohibited during the exam:
- Headphones or earphones
- Secondary monitors
- Food
- Beverages
- Electronics other than the testing computer and personal cell phone
- Sunglasses
- Non-religious head coverings
- Breaks or interruptions, including bathroom breaks
Device Restrictions:
- The following devices are not allowed for the exam:
- Chromebooks
- iPads
- Other tablets
Equipment Requirements:
- Students must have the following equipment:
- Functioning microphone
- Functioning webcam (internal or external)
- Reliable internet that is not a "hot spot"
- Students must have access to Zoom and a personal account
Rescheduling, Cancellations, Missed Exams
- If necessary, applicants may change or postpone the scheduled examination date. Candidates requesting to change testing dates will incur a nominal administrative fee.
- No refunds will be made by NAHP for application fees.
School-Initiated Requirements:
- Registration Window
- Students must register for their exam a minimum of 14 days in advance.
Noncompliance and Consequences:
If a student does not meet the minimum requirements as listed in this document, they will not be allowed to sit for the exam. In such cases:
- The proctor will terminate the student's exam session.
- The student will be required to reschedule for a different exam date.
- The student may incur fees of $75 or more to attempt a second test date.
It is important to note that MedCertify is not responsible for any fees incurred due to the failure to meet the requirements outlined in this document. These requirements and consequences are provided directly from NAHP.
Test Registration Deadline:
Students must take their certification exam within 90 days of completing their program to maintain sponsorship funding from MedCertify. Failure to do so will result in students being responsible for their own exam expenses.
