Contestant terms and conditions:
Who can compete?
- You must live, have roots in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) TX, or live on either side of the Rio Grande River (México, Texas, New Mexico). By roots we mean that you must have a connection to the RGV and will be able to represent the RGV where ever you currently reside.
- Any person of any gender can compete, as long as you are aware that the title you represent is Mr. RGV Leather. The gender you identify with, does not have to reflect that as of the contraction of Mister.
- You must be 21yo+, due to attending various venues that are for people over the age of 21.
- Must fill out this application and pay the registation fee of $25 by January 31, 2025.
How will I be judged?
- Interview (You will be interviewed by a panel of judges behind closed doors.)
- Bar Wear (The leather attire/gear you would wear on a regular day at the bar.)
- Pecs and Personality (Leather gear/attire that makes you feel sexy and stage presence).
- Speech (You will be asked to prepare a speech for the community)
- Formal Leather Wear (This is your final presentation in front of the judges and the audience.)
What events during the RGV Leather Weekend must I attend?
- Intorduction of participants:
- Date: Friday February 21, 2025

- Interview with judges
- Date: Saturday February 22, 2025
- Time: 2:00pm
- Location: Casa Orgullo - McAllen, TX
- Competition - Pecs and Personality, Speech, and Formal Leather Wear
- Date: Saturday February 22, 2025
- Time: 8:00pm
- Location: Cine El Rey - McAllen, TX
What happens if you win?
- You will hold the title for an entire year. February 2025-February 2026.
- You will receive a leather sash to utilize as you represent the RGV in activities and or events all around the world. You get to keep the sash.
- The event organizers will sponsor your trip to participate and compete at IML 2026 in Chicago at the end of May. The cost of airfare and hotel will be covered.
- You will be loved by your community!
What the title/event organizers expect from the title holder:
- You are not required to attend events or participate in activities, although we would expect you to continue to make this title recognizable not only in our community but accross other leather communities, accross the country and beyond.
- The organizers do expect for you to conduct yourself in an appropriate manner when representing the tile. This means not going against what our commmunity represents, acting in a manner where the community does not feel supported or feels attacked while you are representing the title, and or and or invloving yourself in unlawful activities.
- We expect for you to support equality amongst our most dissenfranchised communities and creating safe and non-judgemental spaces/environments for our community. The title/event organizers have every right to strip you from your title if you misrepresent the title.
