    • 2. Pollinator Habitat
    • Native plants support the widest diversity of pollinators, making them an essential part of Bee Friendly Gardens. Three native plants are required for BFG registration. We encourage incorporating as many region-specific native plants as possible to maximize the benefits for your local pollinators. Non-native plants can also benefit pollinators, as long as they are not invasive in your region. If using non-native plants, ensure they offer nectar and/or pollen or serve as host plants. You can check our Ecoregional Guides for a list of native plants and some non-native plants that support pollinators. If you don't meet the minimum requirements, we encourage you to indentify, source, and plant three native plant species and then return to register your BFG. Our regional native pollinator garden recipe cards as well as the Find Your Roots tool are the perfect guide for building a native pollinator garden in your area! If you need further assistance seeking resources on plant sourcing/purchasing, please email bfg@pollinator.org, and take advantage of the 20% Member discount on our consulting services.
