    • Lift up to 50 pounds
    • Participate in daily feeding, stall cleaning, turnout, and facility tasks
    • Be dependable, punctual, and willing to assist where needed

  • Experience

  • Have you worked or volunteered in a barn setting before?*
  • Do you have experience caring for horses with medical or special nutritional needs?*
  • Are you comfortable handling horses independently after proper instruction?*
  • Riding Opportunities

  • The Barn Management Internship primarily focuses on daily barn responsibilities, including feeding and watering horses, turning horses in and out, mucking stalls, and completing additional tasks as assigned by the Barn Manager.

Riding and training opportunities may be available for interns who are interested; however, participation is not required and cannot be guaranteed. These opportunities depend on the current training level of our horses and the availability of our trainers to provide instruction and supervision.

If you are interested in being considered for riding or training opportunities during your internship, please complete the questions below. If not, you may skip to the next section.

  • All interns wishing to ride and train horses must get approval from the Barn Manager. If you are not approved to ride and train horses at the start of your internship, you can request a re-evaluation after 30 days.
  • All riding and training decisions are made by the Barn Manager. The Barn Manager determines which horses are worked, by who, and how often. The Barn Manager also has the authority to revoke an intern's riding and training privilege at any time.
  • All interns who are approved to ride must wear an ASTM approved helmet and closed toed shoes with a heel at all times while mounted.
