Important Changes That Took Effect In 2015
To obtain a watercraft/fishing permit, applicants must show a current Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism Aquatic Nuisance Species Certificate.

Important Changes That Took Effect In 2020:
As of January 1, 2020, if you have a boat that is large enough to be hauled on a trailer, a permit sticker with a number will be issued for the boat and trailer. A photo of the boat on the trailer must be submitted before a boating permit will be issued.
As of January 1, 2019, watercraft with cumbustion engines are no longer allowed on Shadow Lake regardless rather they are in use of not.
