Once MPRB has verified that the tree is removed, property owners will receive a mailing from the MPRB Finance Department detailing the final removal cost and payment options. Property owners can pay for the removal all at once or have the cost assessed to their property taxes over a period of 5 years with interest.
For homestead property owners experiencing financial hardship, MPRB offers three additional methods of payment. Please select one of the following options:*

Ten-year payment – homestead property owners can spread costs over a 10-year time span instead of the standard 5-year option on their property taxes20-year payment – homestead property owners can spread costs over a 20-year time span instead of the standard 5-year option on their property taxesDeferment (for those who meet qualifications) – homestead property owners can defer the cost until the property is sold or the financial hardship disappears
