CAT Membership
The CAT is in need of members to serve as CAT Coordinators, CAT Worksite Leaders and CAT Activists.
CAT Coordinators serve as a point of contact to coordinate with CAT Worksite Leaders and the MAC, and they plan and mobilize union actions approved by the MAC. There should be one (1) CAT Coordinator for every (10) CAT Worksite Leaders.
CAT Worksite Leaders serve as points of contact to coordinate and communicate with fellow CAT Activists and State Scientist colleagues at their worksites and motivate them to take action in support of CAPS' bargaining efforts. Each Worksite Leader should be responsible for approximately ten (10) of their fellow rank-and-file State Scientists that they see, talk with, and work with on a regular basis (e.g., within their program).
CAT Activists stay informed with contract news from their CAT Worksite Leader and the Bargaining Team. As a CAT Activist, you would assist CAT Worksite Leaders in planning and implementing union actions, and communicate information about the contract action campaign to State Scientists at your worksite.
Both Worksite Leaders and Activists regularly attend CAT meetings to coordinate with the MAC and Bargaining Team.
