For the most part PSM safety is completed by the customer. You see a sign that indicates you are about to enter a PSM area. What does this mean for you?
*
This field is required.
Nothing practically. This is the responsibility of the host, not us as contractors.
Only make sure the location is noted on your JHA. You will already be taking safety in to account. Normal work rules will suffice.
You must know the special rules for the PSM area you are about to enter. This could mean that your normal tools are not allowed or that you need special equipment.

You have training on the hazards of Hexane and know how the wear the PPE for protection. The customer would like you to help leak check hexane equipment. Is this OK?
*
This field is required.
Yes. You know the hazards and have the safety gear. You can do this.
No. Even with training, the right tools, and safety gear do not work with hexane without approval from A-Lert management.
Depends solely on your comfort level. If you feel OK doing this then go ahead.
