Roster: Schools must submit a roster 14 days prior to their trip that includes student, chaperone, and teacher names, ages, dietary needs, and other relevant information.
Waiver of Claim: All teachers, students, and chaperones regardless of age must sign a waiver. Parent/guardians must sign for minors (under 18). Waivers must be submitted online before arrival or dropped off upon arrival.
Quiet Hours: 10:30pm through 7:00am. Please be considerate of other guests and families!
Supervision of Minors: Adults should never be alone with a minor while out of auditory/visual range of others. Please use the "Rule of 3's" of always having 3 people in a group, never pairs. Schools must provide supervision that meets a 1 chaperone to 10 students minimum and not exceed a 3 chaperone to 10 students.
Emergency Procedures: Notify Staff in-person or call On-Duty Staff (618) 759-1780. Staff are trained in CPR and First Aid, but schools are ultimately responsible for transportation to emergency care. Call 911 immediately. Nearest ambulance in Vienna, IL. Nearest ER in Harrisburg, IL or Marion, IL.
Medication Storage: Schools are responsible for the distribution and storage of student medications. Medications must be stored in a locked location. One can be provided upon request.
Stewardship: Destruction, defacement, or removal of any natural or historic feature is strictly prohibited. Leave wildlife alone. Outside firewood and cutting of any live or dead standing trees strictly prohibited. Collect only dead, down, and brown firewood. No glass containers of any kind. Put litter and recycling in its place.
Vehicles: One (1) vehicle per school is allowed overnight for emergencies. All other vehicles must be parked in the parking lot. No riding in truck beds. No ATVs, side-by-sides, golf carts, or any other recreational motor vehicle. Obey one-ways and speed limits.
Lodging Areas: No open flames, candles, tikis, gas stoves/lanterns, grills, etc. in cabins. Campfires only in designated fire pits, always supervised, and drenched before departing. Cabins/outhouses must be left in condition found upon arrival. No unnecessary discharge of fire extinguishers. Report existing damage to lodging upon arrival.
Fishing / Hunting / Biking / Boating / Swimming: Fishing allowed only in Lake Echon, Kane Lake, Pine Lake, and Lake Antironta. No fishing in Lake St. Isaac. Anyone 16+ years old must possess an Illinois fishing license. No hunting allowed. Bicyclists must wear helmets and obey posted speed limits. No boating or swimming without Camp Staff.
Smoking, Alcohol, and Drug Use: No smoking/vaping inside any structure. Alcohol may not be consumed by those chaperoning or minors. Possession/consumption of cannabis and illegal drugs strictly prohibited and will result in eviction from Camp.
Legal Concerns: All local, state, and federal laws apply while at Camp Ondessonk; particularly underage drinking, illegal drug use, use of fireworks, removal of Native American artifacts, as well as hunting, fishing, and other conservation laws. Infractions may be referred to the Johnson County Sheriff at Camp's discretion.
Other Regulations:
- NO PETS allowed on Camp property.
- Firearms, fireworks, and explosives of any kind are strictly prohibited.
- No use of any Camp program areas or equipment without Camp Staff.
- No entry into Kitchen, Maintenance Building, Stables, private residences, or other lodging units.
- Do not kill snakes at Camp Ondessonk. If bitten, seek medical care immediately.
Catholic Diocese of Belleville, IL: Observe the values of the Catholic Church. Co-habitation only by married couples.

Registration Deposit, Adjustments, Refunds, and Cancellation Policy:
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your reservation. If you must change your reservation, and you provide at least 7 days’ notice, your deposit is transferable to the new reservation if within the same calendar year.
Trip cancellations made at any time will result in the loss of your 25% deposit.
Schools may increase or decrease attendance up until 7 days prior to arrival. Decreases made within 7 days of arrival will result in a per-person cancellation fee. Increases made within 7 days of arrival cannot be accommodated.
