Roles in WRG for white and non-Black folks:
1. Group Member ~
They focus on building their own pod as a structure of resistance. support folks in building their pods, learn from our leadership , fundraise for the group and more! Once onboarded, group members attend meetings 2x a week.
2. Pod Liaison ~
A Pod Liaison is someone who works alongside WRG members to communicate efficiently with the other members of the pod. A Liaison also acts as a buffer between Black members and unsafe yt people who are in the contributor position. The Liaison's primary role other than that is to help mobilize the contributors and to provide monthly support and info re the movement/ antiracist efforts. Lastly, Liaisons are responsible for two zines a year that need to be approved by group members and the founder before spreading it in community. In the repair process Liaisons act as support to the contributors in becoming more informed and to take steps to unlearning.
3. Mobilizer ~
A mobilizer schedules with Black members who have material asks. They coordinate with white people who have cars and are able to do physical asks ie. picking up meds, groceries, cleaning. They also mobilize around financial needs and tap into their own pod(s) to assist WRG in meeting goals that support Black trans + members. Whether it's for a bill or a car we come together to support each other in answering the call knowing anything asked for was already owed.
4. Tabler ~
These folks go to markets + other events and talk to other white + non-Black folks about how to redistribute wealth to Black trans+ community in sustainable + equitable ways. While tabling, they will provide people with more info about WRG and ask them to contribute.
5. Contributor ~
Is in a pod that they created, or joined. They pay reparations monthly while learning about repair and growing understanding of how to become safer by learning anti oppressive practices.
*** Wealth Redistribution Group will assist in building the skills needed to be in any of these roles.
