  • PARENT AGREEMENT

  • This document represents a formal agreement between the Nursery setting and the parent(s)/carer(s).

The agreement will outline the obligations and commitments of both parties.
This is an agreement between Directors of Good Shepherd Day Nursery (referred to as ‘the Nursery’) and the Parents or legal Guardian (referred to as ‘the Parent’) of a child (or children) that is enrolled at the Nursery.
    The Nursery: -
    1. Will be known as ‘Good Shepherd Day Nursery’, located at Emmanuel Parish Church, Romford Road, E7 8BD London.
    2. Is registered with Ofsted as a Childcare Nursery – nondomestic premises and operates within their regulations, guidelines, and rules. Their Inspectors visit the Nursery to ensure the appropriate standards of care & education are being provided.

    Registration
If you would like to register your child at Good Shepherd Day Nursery, then you will be required to fill in an application form. Once your application form has been processed, if there is a space an offer letter will be sent to you via email. A non-refundable registration fee of 1 weeks Fees per child is required upon completion of registration to secure your child's placement. If you decide you no longer need the nursery space the registration fee is non-refundable. Spaces will not be held unless the registration fee is paid in full by the deadline date specified on the offer letters. You are required to bring in an original birth certificate before your child begins in our setting. We require the confidential data to be completed at the same time as your non- refundable holding fee.

    Opening hours
The Nursery is open from Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm.
The Nursery will be closed on all Public Holidays, Christmas Eve, and will reopen on the 2nd of January each year if this is a weekday. Upon joining you will be given a list of all our closure dates. First time registration of all children is free, however upon leaving, any subsequent re-registration will incur a registration fee.

    Settling in Periods
We aim to support parents/carers to help their children settle quickly and easily by considering the individual needs and circumstances of each child and their families. The settling in period is between 2 to 3 sessions a week before the start at our nursery, which begins on your given start date. These settling in
sessions are charged at a cost-free rate. If a child is not able to cope with the nursery day, parents are required to collect their child. We recommend parents do not plan on going back to work until their child is settled.

    Potty Training
GSDN staff will work together with parents / carers during potty training.
If you have a method that is working at home, please let us know and we will try and adopt this at the nursery. Should you stop potty training at home, please inform us. If your child shows no interest in potty training, we will discuss this with you and probably choose to discontinue and try again at an agreed later date.

    WITHDRAWAL
Parents agree that a minimum of 4 weeks written notice will be given for permanent withdrawal of their child. This can be done via email or in person. The responsibility is of the parents/carers to ensure that the notice has been received by the Nursery Manager. No exceptions will be made. Parents of children moving to reception. still must give us four weeks’ notice. The last day of nursery is August 31st for those attending reception.

    Nursery Fees and Payment Policy
All fees are invoiced monthly and are payable in advance on the first working day of each month. Monthly fees include all sick days, public holidays, and annual private holidays. Fees are payable for booked in days and not actual attendance.
For holidays longer than 2 weeks we require at least 4 weeks’ notice and a discount on the retainer fee may be negotiated. Failure to inform us of long-term absence may result in the loss of your child’s nursery place.
Full days are £53.00 per day, Single A.M or P.M sessions are £28 respectively.
We are happy to discuss payment methods with you privately and give help, advice, and support on aspects of government funding that you may be entitled to.

    Collection Policy
GSDN will need to have full details of any person that may collect your child from the nursery. We will not let your child leave our care unless we have authorisation from you to do so.
Therefore, we need to have emergency contact details for your child just in case you are unable to collect yourself. If you know that someone else will be collecting on a specific day you must inform us and give us all their details and a password system will also be used. We will expect the emergency collector to bring with them some form of photo ID so that we can verify their identity. If there is any doubt, we will contact you to confirm you are happy for your child to leave with them.

Any unscheduled daycare provided outside of the above/agreed times, will be charged at a rate of £5 per 30min.

    Health, Safety and Security
Our number one priority at Good Shepherd Day Nursery is the health, safety, and welfare of your child. You too can play a part in this and would ask you to report anything that you feel may be unsafe. We would ask all parents and carers to ensure that the entrance door is always closed when you enter or leave but also to be careful of any children near the door at the time so that you do not trap their fingers or allow them out of the door. Please do not let anyone else into the building when you have been buzzed in and never let anyone else into the nursery when you arrive or leave.
The use of mobile phones whilst on nursery premises is strictly prohibited and we request that they are not answered at all unless you leave the nursery. If the nursery must close due to any health and safety reasons, including bad weather, fees will still be payable during the closure period.

    Termination of Agreement
Should you wish to terminate this agreement you should do so in writing providing us with a minimum of one months’ notice.
This agreement may be ended by Good Shepherd Day nursery with immediate effect if any of the following apply:
    · Verbal or physical abuse to any of GSDN staff
    · Failure to pay nursery fees.
    · Continual lateness
    · If your child’s behaviour is deemed unacceptable by us or could endanger other children or staff. In the event of this you will be offered support to try and address this situation to achieve a positive outcome for all concerned Child Sickness Policy If your child is too poorly to attend nursery you must inform us between 8.00am and 9.00am on 02030024995.
Parents / Carers agree that a child who is ill (fever, infection, diarrhoea, sickness, communicable disease, or any other type of illness that may be passed onto others, with the exception of the common cold) will be kept at home to protect the well-being of the staff and the other children in our care.
You further agree that should your child become ill while in our care, you are able to make immediate arrangements to collect your child from nursery. Children will not be allowed to return to our care until they have been symptom free for at least 24 hours for a fever and 48 hours for diarrhoea. In certain cases, we may require a sick note from your doctor.

By signing this agreement, you are agreeing to our staff seeking any necessary medical advice or treatment during your child’s time at Good Shepherd Day Nursery.

    DIETARY REQUIREMENTS AND ALLERGIES
The manager, nursery cook and parents will work together to ensure a child with specific food allergies receives no food at nursery that may harm them. This may include designing an appropriate menu or substituting specific meals  on the current nursery menu. This will be done wherever possible; however there may be some food items or meals that we would ask to be provided from home.

    CAREPLANS
If your child has a specific allergy or medical condition a care plan will be put together to ensure the safety of your child. The care plan will outline information about the allergy, illness or condition, the type of medication, how it is to be delivered, dosage, frequency and contact details of parents, emergency numbers and the family GP. For children under the age of 3 the care plan will be completed by the parent, and the nursery manager/deputy manager. The child’s health visitor (or other medical practitioner or specialist) will be notified, but their failure to attend will not prevent the care plan being drawn up. If your child requires medication to be given daily or as an emergency precaution such as an epipen parents must ensure they have provided this. Without this medication your child cannot start nursery. All medication for children must have the child’s name clearly written on the original container. Emergency medication, such as inhalers and epipens, will be within easy reach of staff in case of an immediate need, but will always remain out of children’s reach and under supervision. All medications must be in their original containers, legible 6 and not tampered with or they will not be given.

    General information
To maintain your child's place at our nursery, you will be required to sign and submit this updated agreement.
We have an obligation to consider reporting any concerns we may have about your child in relation to suspected abuse or neglect. We may do so without your consent or informing you. General concerns will always be discussed with you first and support and advice will be given where appropriate.

Please feel free to discuss any issue or concerns or even any good ideas you may have about our services with your child’s key worker or the manager.
