Are you a supporter of the arts or do you have experience working with arts organizations? Do you live in Ivins City? If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider serving Ivins as a member of its Arts Commission!
The Arts Commission is a working commission, applicants should expect a time commitment which will vary monthly with assigned roles and responsibilities. We are responsible for recommending grant applications for RAP tax funds and implementing Ivins City's Arts Master Plan. Annually the Commission administers the Art-on-Loan program in May and an exhibition at the Ivins City Heritage Days in September. Commissioners are expected to assist with arts events, the annual RAP Grant process and the future development of the Arts Corridor along Center Street. The Commission generally meets monthly on the second Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. For further information, you can find the Ordinance establishing the Arts Commission and the Arts Master Plan on the City's website under Government and then Arts Commission Tab.
The sitting Commission members recommend potential members to the Mayor. New members are then appointed by the Mayor on advice and consent of the City Council. To be considered by the Arts Commission, please submit the form below. With submission of this application, you are stating your willingness to accept a two-year appointment.
If there are no Commission openings at the time you apply, the Commission will retain your information for consideration for future vacancies. Thank you for your interest in the Ivins City Arts Commission.
