  • Under contract guidelines grievances need to be discussed with the members' immediate supervisor within 5 days of the known occurrence.

  • Nature of Grievance Report: What happened? Where? When? Who was involved? Witnesses? Why is it a contract violation? What do you want as a resolution? Attach any relevant evidence/documents to this grievance.

  • I understand it is my obligation to keep my Union informed of any change in the information above. Any changes to witnesses, documents, or other evidence must be made in writing and presented to the Union as soon as possible. Last-minute changes may not be included in presentation or hearing.

  • If this grievance is protesting discipline attach a copy of the letter(s) to your grievance when submitting to the Employer and Local 58. All grievances must be timely submitted to the Employer with a copy to the Union in person by the grievant via fax or delivered to the Main Office for Local 58. If mailed or by fax call Local 58 to confirm receipt. No emails or electronic submissions. It is the member's responsibility to file and turn in grievance(s) in a timely manner. Do not give it to another member or a shop steward to turn in for you - it is your responsibility. Call Local 58 if you have any questions concerning the time limits in your contract.
