  • RACE MANAGEMENT VOLUNTEER FORM

I would like to take this opportunity to I thank all the volunteers that helped make this year such a success, without you, the racing in Cowes simply could not take place.

For those who have not yet become involved in race management then please do consider volunteering to either help, or to shadow, to see what fun it is to be part of the team. Whilst the race officer has a very skilled and technical job there is always room for the less/or no experienced helpers.

Below is a list of events that are currently in the calendar and we would encourage you to volunteer for as many as you feel able to.

We will be arranging some informative and educational talks next year which we will share more information on in the New Year.

    Best wishes

    RLYC Sailing Office

  • Do you have any dietary requirements?*
  • EXPERIENCE - It would be helpful if you could indicate which roles you are already experienced in doing:*
  • DUTY TYPES - It would be helpful if you could indicate which roles interest you.*
  • RACING FORMAT - Please indicate if you are interested in volunteering from a Committee vessel (a stable boat that is driven out to the race area, then anchored ahead of racing), or from the Shoreline (either based in The RLYC Race box or at the RLYC Flagpole) or both!*
  • COMMITTEE VESSELS AND RIBS - When the club is running a regatta, one of the challenges we have is finding suitable motor boats to use for both the committee vessel (CV) and also RIBs for use on mark laying duties or shortened course RIBs for CCW. If you have a boat, or know someone who does, please let us know!
  • 2024 REGATTA SCHEDULE

In the tables below please tick Yes if you wish to be involved in that event, or No if you are unavailable to help.

Lunch and refreshments are provided at every regatta. Please make sure you add any dietary requirements.

The Sailing Secretary will be in touch to confirm whether we will need your help ahead of each regatta, so although you have marked you are available please do not assume you are 'locked' into helping until you have received confirmation via phone/email.
