The D.C. Code Officials Association (DCCOA) is a nonprofit organization that provides members with many benefits. This includes discount pricing for events, workshops, DCCOA merchandise, training, continuing education as well as educational seminars and webinars. Local, regional, and national updates on laws and regulations that affect the building and construction community in the District. Newsletters which includes articles, legislative analyses and other building and construction industry related information. Network opportunities with code professionals from local jurisdiction to around the world.

Membership Classification and Fees*

Active Individual MemberEmployed by a governmental entity or by an active Third Party inspection/plan review agency actively engaged in the administration and enforcement of building codes and related ordinances. Eligible to become Active member upon the payment of membership dues, at the rate fixed by these By-Laws. Entitled to one vote and have the ability to serve on the Board of Directors or a Committee as directed by these By-Laws.

$45.00 for each year

Professional MemberRegistered and licensed architect, professional engineer, permit technician, general contractor, inspector, and tradesperson such as electrical, plumbing or mechanical professional interested in the purposes and objectives of DCCOA shall be eligible to become a Professional Member upon the payment of membership dues, at the rate fixed by these By-Laws. Entitled to one vote and have the ability to serve on the Board of Directors or a Committee as directed by these By-Laws.

Associate MemberAn individual not qualifying as an active individual or professional member however, are associated with an organization, association, institution, corporation, partnership, company, manufacturer, or other related entity interested in the purposes and objectives of DCCOA shall be eligible to become an Associate Member upon the payment of membership dues, at the rate fixed by these By-Laws. An Associate Member shall be entitled to one vote and have the ability to serve on the Board of Directors or a Committee as directed by these By-Laws.

Retired MemberAny former Active Individual Member who is retired from a governmental entity shall retain all rights and privileges of an Active Individual Member.
