This fast-paced, spirited teaching competition will feature eight junior hospitalists sharing their best 8-minute presentations on a topic of their choosing. This novel platform will provide a new audience for emerging educators, build capacity and professional reputation, as well as enhance the educational impact of the Annual Conference. The winner of this competition will be guaranteed the opportunity to present a session at SHM Converge 2025 in Las Vegas, NV. In addition, we will provide all presenters with qualitative feedback after the competition from expert hospitalist educators, providing both improvement recommendations and networking opportunities.
Topics must be relevant to hospitalists but are otherwise unlimited. Presenters are recommended to use PowerPoint for sharing visual content. Presentations should be creative, dynamic, and foster interaction with the audience.
Interested hospitalists must submit:
- 1-2 learning objectives that will be covered during the presentation
- A concise summary (250 words or less) about the topic, the rationale for choosing this topic, and why the presenter’s approach to teaching this topic is uniquely excellent.
All applications are due by no later than Monday, December 18.
