ICfL - Facilities TA Resources Request

Use this form to request a copy of either the 2023 Procurement Manual, the Library Building and Space Planning Guidebook, or both.
The Idaho Commission for Libraries is pleased to provide Idaho's public library staff with free access to the documents listed on this form. These documents provide valuable, vetted, and actionable information about the complex processes and decisions associated with capital improvements and building new facilities.

To receive either or both of the available documents, the library director, program manager, or other central staff member should complete this form. An electronic copy of the document(s) will be emailed to the requesting party upon verification by the ICfL.

Each library legal entity (system or district) is limited to one copy of each document per entity.

Restrictions
These documents are being provided through paid, limited use agreements between the ICfL and the authors. Use of these documents is restricted to Idaho public library staff only, for the narrow purpose of researching, planning, and carrying out capital improvement and facilities projects.

These documents are are for internal use only and not for public use or distribution.

Failure to comply with the following use restrictions will result in revoking the use of these documents for all public libraries under this agreement, not just the library responsible for noncompliance.

The following restrictions apply to the use and possession of these documents under this agreement:
- Unauthorized copying, modification and distribution of the items and associated documentation is expressly forbidden.
- The items are not for resale of any kind.
- Idaho Public Libraries may not make or distribute copies of the items or electronically transfer the items, including by email.
- The items are not to be posted and stored on any internet sites accessible by the public.
- The itesms are for internal Idaho Public Library use, not for public use of any kind.

Library Building and Space Planning GuidebookThe guidebook provides a quick overview, not an all-inclusive guide to the potentially overwhelming (yet very rewarding) experience of building a new library. Each chapter includes a brief narrative section, followed by a series of resources for the reader to consider. Chapters include assessing your space, projecting the size of the future building, hiring an architect, thinking about possible spaces to include within the building, furnishing the space, and other tips for a successful project. It is intended to be used like a workbook. Use the sections as you need them. There are a variety of forms/templates with instructions you can use to gather/present your information.
