We’re thrilled to announce the Beginner Referee Program 2025 - perfect for anyone eager to step into the exciting world of basketball officiating! Whether you’re brand new or a young ref looking to refresh your skills, this program combines essential fundamentals with practical on-court experience.

📅 When: Every Saturday from 1 November 2025
⏰ Time: 2:00–3:00 PM
📍 Where: Manly State School
⏳ Duration: ~1 hour

What You’ll Learn

✅ Junior basketball rules & guidelines
✅ Officiating techniques and positioning
✅ Referee signals (violations, fouls, etc.)
✅ Hands-on, on-court practice

This workshop prepares you for U8 and U10 games, helping you build confidence to apply your skills right away. When you feel ready, you’ll complete an assessment to get court-ready before officiating your first real games.

Who Can Join

Anyone passionate about sports, fair play, and learning something new (no age restrictions!)

What to Bring

Comfortable sportswear & non-marking shoes
Whistle (Fox40 Classic, Mini, Sonik, or Molten Dolfin – no pea whistles)
Notebook and pen
