Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public service organization, was founded in 1913 at Howard University in Washington D.C. Since 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been providing service and support to local communities, leading the dialogue on public policy issues, supporting quality education, providing scholarships, sponsoring artistic innovations, creating positive opportunities for the development of our youth and providing new projects to stimulate current and future economic growth.
As an organization of over 350,000 college-educated women, we remain focused on our commitment to sisterhood, scholarship and service. We are organized in over 1000 chapters throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. We also have chapters in Arabian Gulf, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Germany, London, Seoul, Tokyo, Okinawa, Jamaica, St. Thomas and St. Croix. The Rancocas Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. which serves the greater Rancocas Valley will be awarding this scholarship.
The Rancocas Valley Alumnae Chapter Scholarship Fund for Black Female Students is designed to support high-school aged Black female seniors who are planning to matriculate into a four-year university. The Committee is seeking candidates who have demonstrated leadership ability, a commitment to community service and academic excellence. Applicants must reside in Burlington County.
