I. Release
The following applies to the use of personal information and other content submitted for publication in any of the IHF's media channels at any time in the future.
By completing this digital release form, I hereby grant the IHF permission to use any personal information or content that I submit explicitly for the purpose of publication in both print and digital versions of the IHF Journal, the IHF Blog, and IHF social media platforms. I authorize the IHA to publish or distribute this information and content for purposes of publicizing the IHF in their publication, website, or social media postings. I also give the IHF the right to make reasonable edits to any content that I submit, to be approved by myself before publication. Information or content submitted may only be used for the original use in which permission is granted, unless additional permission is granted to the IHF.
I verify that I own the rights to have this content distributed, published, or otherwise promoted by the IHF. I certify that any work of art submitted is not plagiarized from another source.
I understand that completing this form only allows the IHF to use my content in their publication, and at no time will the IHF assume rights to the content themselves.
I understand that at no time shall I be paid, reimbursed, compensated, or given royalties for the publication of my content by the IHF, now or at any point in the future.
I hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge the IHF from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on the behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
I certify that the person or all person(s) in any submitted photographs are at least 18 years of age. If they are under the age of 18, I certify that their parent or legal guardian has given approval.
I affirm that all given statements to the IHF are true. As the provider, I also understand that submissions of content, or completion of release, is not a guarantee of publication. If work is published, it is the duty of the provider (and not the IHF) to notify all involved parties of their involvement in the final product.
I have read this release and I fully understand the contents, meaning, and impact of this release. Agreement with any of the fields below constitutes my digital signature and my express agreement to all of the above mentioned terms of this release form.
II. Code of Ethics
As an IHF Recommended Professional or Applicant, and member in good standing of the IHF, I pledge to:
Uphold the IHF’s commitment to the pursuit of excellent horsemanship.
Prioritize and maintain the safety of students, clients, horses, and all others involved in equestrian activities.
Uphold and advocate for the highest standards of mental and physical welfare and humane training and treatment of the horse.
Apply horse psychology and promote scientifically proven training techniques that represent the core principles of equine learning theory.
Continue to advance my knowledge, skills and experience in order to contribute to the growth and education of the equine community.
Acknowledge when my abilities or expertise fall outside the realm necessary to be of professional assistance to a client. Should this occur, I shall seek support from the IHA or refer to a fellow professional.
Conduct myself in a professional manner with honesty, integrity and respect in all business dealings and interpersonal relations with clients and colleagues.
Contribute to the IHA culture, which fosters education, collaboration, and mentoring.
Assist in maintaining the honor and reputation of the IHF and refrain from any form of fraud, deception or impropriety.
Cooperate with the IHF’s Ethics Committee during the investigation of any reported violation of mental, physical or inhumane treatment of an equine or human, understanding and accepting that following a full investigation by the Ethics Committee will be required to make recommendations to the Board of Directors concerning any action that may be taken, with the final decision resting with the Board.
Any member who has been convicted of cruelty or inhumane treatment of animals shall be terminated from the International Horsemanship Association and all privileges withdrawn.
The INTERNATIONAL HORSEMANSHIP FOUNDATION, while striving to maintain the highest standards of conduct among its members, shall not and cannot be responsible in any way for the individual acts of its members.
