MusicNT have started a Remote Music Ranger program in six communities across the Northern Territory. We are currently seeking interest from women and men to take on paid, part-time work as part of this program to provide activities and support for their community. This could include:
- Running a regular music or songwriting program in community
- Supporting an existing music room to be open on more occasions for communities
- Helping the community to find a good place to hold regular music activities and safely store instruments and PAs
- Supporting visiting music programs or musicians
- Helping local musicians apply for Festivals or Bush Bands and supporting them at these events
- Getting more support for music programs for women and girls
To be considered for the Remote Music Ranger role you MUST;
- Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- Have a current NT driver’s licence – or be able to get one
- Have a Working Safe with Kids card (Ochre) Card – or be able to get one
- You must live in a remote community in the NT
