  • VIRTUAL MEETINGS AGREEMENT

Virtual (online) teaching and learning activities will be a major part of Urban Ranger Corps programming throughout the 2024-2025 Program Season. Considering the global COVID-19, it is a priority of URC to keep students and staff safe, while providing opportunities to engage Rangers.
  • Urban Ranger Corps (URC) would like to make all parents and Rangers aware of our new Virtual Meetings Agreement. With so many parts of our lives being conducted electronically, we believe that it to be helpful to identify URC standards and expectations regarding any/all scheduled virtual (online) meetings. WE'RE ASKING ALL RANGERS TO ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING VIRTUAL MEETING GUIDELINES:

    1. Mute your mic (lower-left corner of your screen) as soon as you sign on and whenever you are not speaking. This is important and perhaps the most critical tip on this list to avoid background noise and distractions for others.

    2. Show your face. As always, have a clean and neat appearance. Please do not wear hoodies, durags, or hats during any URC virtual sessions.

    3. Please refrain from distractive activity such as eating, cooking, playing video games, talking with someone else in the room, or anything else that might be distracting to others.

    4. Situate yourself in your home so that you can get the best possible Wi-Fi/internet connection. Close unneeded applications on your computer to keep the video optimally functioning.

    5. When you first begin to speak, always introduce yourself in the URC way. Also let others know that you are finished by saying one of these signoffs: “That’s all.” “I’m done.” “Thank you.” So that everyone knows you have finished your comments.

    6. If you want to speak, physically raise your hand, or use the “raise hand” feature that is available at the bottom center of your screen.

    7. You can ask questions and make comments silently if desired using the “chat” feature (also on the bottom and center of your screen).

    8. Be mindful of your background lighting. If you are sitting in front of a window, you may be completely darkened by the light coming through the window. Your overhead light also might need to be turned off or dimmed as well.

    9. Be sure that there is nothing visually distracting (e.g., cars or people going by) in the background too.

    10. Remember to sign out or “leave the meeting” when the session is finished.

  • Authorization and Agreement:

I am the parent or guardian of {studentName}, and I acknowledge and agree to the above expectations set forth by Urban Ranger Corps for my son’s participation in all virtual (online) meetings. As a result, I also authorize my child to participate in virtual (online) events, work projects and program activities of the Urban Ranger Corps.

  • URC COVID-19 GUIDELINES

URC COVID-19 Guidelines must be signed by a parent or guardian only.
  • Across the country youth serving organizations are facing unforeseen challenges due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19). For Urban Ranger Corps (URC) our staff, board members and volunteers have taken every precaution to ensure the safety of our students, families, and community.

During this program season, URC will conduct programming with both virtual and live activities/events. As a result, it will be extremely important for all staff, volunteers, parents, and Rangers (participants) to follow and adhere to the following URC COVID-19 GUIDELINES. Due to the fluidity of COVID-19 Regulations put forth by the CDC, Missouri DHSS and KCHD, policies may change throughout the year.

    1. All staff persons, volunteers, parents, and program participants will be expected to adhere to the following URC COVID-19 Guidelines.

    2. All staff persons, volunteers, parents, and program participants are responsible to notify URC if anyone in their household has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or showing symptoms of COVID-19.

In addition, for this time, we ask that our parents are aware of the following exceptions to our regular policies. These exceptions take precedence over our regular policies until further notice.

    3. Rangers, parents and guests are NOT required to wear masks during URC programming unless verbally instructed to by a URC staff or administrator.

    4. Rangers, parents and guests must submit to a temperature check prior to participating in URC programming. Anyone with a fever over 100.4 degrees will be asked to return home.

    5. Rangers must quarantine themselves from all URC programming for 3-5 days if they are experiencing any signs of Cold or Flu, COVID-19 or tested positive for COVID-19, or have been in contact within 72 hours with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

    6. If a Ranger appears to be sick (fever, cough, shortness of breath) while participating in URC programming, we will notify the parent or guardian to pickup Ranger within the hour.

    7. After an illness, a Ranger may return to live programming after being fever free without the use of medications for 24 hours. If tested positive for COVID-19, Ranger cannot return until he has no symptoms or symptoms are improving after 5 days, AND you have been fever-free for 24 hours.

    8. All Rangers will be expected to use proper hygiene, cleanliness and handwashing etiquette at all times.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please respond immediately by contacting our office at (816) 333-6455 or email alex.moyer@urckc.org.
