About the ITS-NY Academic Excellence Scholarship:
This scholarship serves to assist current high school students in furthering their education in areas of study that are consistent with the mission of the Intelligent Transportation Society of New York (https://www.its-ny.org/about). Eligible students must be a senior in an accredited high school in New York State, interested in a field related to ITS.
Value: $1,000. Two (2) scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each will be awarded for the 2024 - 2025 academic year.
Application Requirements: Selection will be based on academic ability, stated college career and post college career objectives and interests, and supporting letters of reference. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in an accredited New York State high school, with a minimum GPA of 2.5, a grade of C, 75% average or equivalent. Applicants must provide the following:
1. Official and most recent transcript.
2. Proposed or current list of course enrollments for the 2024 - 2025 academic year.
3. One (1) letter of reference that includes assessment of the candidate’s academic ability and record, keen interest in a field related to ITS and any other personal attributes that indicate the candidate is worthy of the award.
4. An essay not to exceed 350 words, describing their motivation for wanting to work in a field related to ITS and describing how the candidate grew interested in the topic. Examples of relevant project work or applicable initiatives should be included.
About the ITS-NY Future Leadership Scholarship:
This scholarship serves to assist current undergraduate students in furthering their education in areas of study that are consistent with the mission of the Intelligent Transportation Society of New York ((https://www.its-ny.org/about). Eligible students must be an undergraduate student in an accredited university in New York, studying any ITS-related field including, automated vehicles, civil engineering, electric vehicles, computer science, robotics, transportation planning and/or public policy.
Value: $3,500. One (1) scholarship in the amount of $3,500 will be awarded for the 2024 - 2025 academic year.
Application Requirements: Selection will be based on academic ability, stated career objectives and interests, and supporting letters of reference. International students on F-1 and J-1 visas will be considered. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in a New York State/City institution and hold a minimum GPA of 2.5, a grade of C, 75% average or equivalent. Applicants must also provide the following:
1. Official and most recent transcript.
2. Evidence of registration and/or acceptance for study in an undergraduate program at an accredited New York college or university. (If applying as a college or university freshman).
3. Two (2) letters of reference that include assessment of the candidate’s academic ability and record, commitment to a career in the ITS field and any other personal attributes that indicate the candidate is worthy of the award. The letters should describe the candidate's scholastic performance, work, or other activities related to ITS.
4. An essay not to exceed 350 words, covering motivation for working in the ITS field and describing how the candidate grew interested in the topic. Examples of relevant project work or applicable initiatives should be included.
5. Include a resume and list of relevant courses for the 2024 – 2025 academic year.
About the ITS-NY Dotty Drinkwater Scholarship:
This scholarship serves to assist current graduate students in furthering their education in areas of study that are consistent with the mission of the Intelligent Transportation Society of New York ((https://www.its-ny.org/about).Eligible students must be a graduate or Ph.D. student in an accredited university in New York, studying any ITS-related field including, automated vehicles, civil engineering, electric vehicles, computer science, robotics, transportation planning and/or public policy.
Value: $3,500. One (1) scholarship in the amount of $3,500 will be awarded for the 2024 - 2025 academic year.
Application Requirements: Selection will be based on academic ability, stated career objectives and interests, and supporting letters of reference. International students on F-1 and J-1 visas will be considered. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in a New York State/City institution and hold a minimum GPA of 3.0, a grade of B, 80% average or equivalent. Applicants must also provide the following:
1. Official and most recent transcript.
2. A list of extracurricular activities showing interest in transportation technology.
3. Two (2) letters of reference that include assessment of the candidate’s academic ability and record, commitment to a career in the ITS field and any other personal attributes that indicate the candidate is worthy of the award. The letters should describe the candidate's scholastic performance and research, work, or other activities related to ITS.
4. An essay not to exceed 350 words, covering motivation for working in ITS field and describing how the candidate grew interested in the topic. Examples of relevant project work or applicable initiatives should be included.
5. Include a resume and list of relevant courses for the 2024 – 2025 academic year.
