EXPO VAUMC Cohort Registration 2024

Hello and THANK YOU For your interest in Exploration 2024 which is sponsored by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry by the United Methodist Church and is scheduled to take place Friday February 16 - Sunday, February 18, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.

Exploration is a discernment event for Young Adults (18-26) who are contemplating a call to ordained ministry. To be clear, attending Expo does not mean you have to commit to becoming an ordained minister (or anythig else:). It only means you are exploring your next chapter in life and what God might have in store for you.

This application will help you register to be a part of the cohort traveling to Expo with the Virginia Conference. You will need a few things to complete this applcaiton:
- copy of the Scholarship form which you submitted to GBHEM. This will help us get to know you and learn a little bit about where you are now in your discernement.
- a copy of your health insurance card front and back
- a copy of a government issued photo id( driver's license, pasport, permanent residence card. Please note: a Student ID will meet the requirements for identification when flying, etc. in the US)
By submitting this form with the Virginia Conference, you are communicating you intend to join the VAUMC Cohort to Expo and that we will need to purchase an airplane ticket for you.

Accommodations at EXPO 2024

Hotel accommodations are being organized by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry through their registration portal. Students traveling to Expo are expected to share a room in order to maximize capacity. When meals are not specifically provided through the EXPO event, the VAUMC will cover meal costs.
