As a public library that focuses on inviting, up-to-date materials for public use, the Spanish Fork Library selects titles aimed at the general reader. Per the Collection Development Policy, the primary focus of our libraries is to maintain up-to-date and varied collections that reflect community interests and patron needs. If you are an author and want to submit your book for library staff to consider adding to our collection, please review each of the following sections for important instructions and guidelines prior to filling out the form below.
Book Reviews
Reviews from industry sources allow library selectors to fully evaluate your book. A positive review in one or more professional library review journals will give your material an improved chance for adding your book to our collection. Examples of these journals include:
Booklist
Kirkus Reviews
Library Journal
Publisher's Weekly
School Library Journal
Library staff will also consider reviews published in the Salt Lake Tribune or Deseret News book sections, as well as titles featured in other local media.
You may also submit other online reviews for independently published materials, from sources such as:
Booklife
Chanticleer Book Reviews
Edelweiss
Independent Publisher
Kirkus Indie Book Reviews
NetGalley
Reader Reviews
The Library will consider reader opinions based on rankings, comments, and reviews on Amazon, GoodReads, BookTok, or other review blogs.
Book Binding and Quality Guidelines
Because books in a public library are in frequent use, the quality of book production is evaluated by Library staff when considering the addition of materials. Books made with quality materials, attractive cover art, and glued or sewn bindings are preferred. Books with interactive pages designed to be filled in or torn out will not be added to the collection.
Sending your book to the library
You must send us a sample copy of the item for us to review. If we decide to add the item to the collection, we will pay for the book. If we don't add it to the collection, we can send the copy back at the Author's request; otherwise, the item will be treated like a donation (according to our Donation Policy).
Submissions of physical items can only be received at the address listed below.
