    This workshop is perfect for:

    • Little green superheroes eager to explore the world around them
    • Families who want to create a greener, healthier home together
    • Anyone who's curious about growing their own food and making a difference for the planet

This workshop is a special project collaboration by Studentdesk Integrated Montessori School, the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Pasig, and the Rainforest Park Pasig. It would cover the following topics:

    • Introduction to urban farming concepts and benefits
    • Practical techniques for growing vegetables and herbs in small spaces
    • Sustainable methods for composting and soil management
    • Pest and disease control in urban gardens

    Program Objectives:

The primary goals of this event are as follows:

    • Educational Enrichment: We aim to provide our students with hands-on learning experiences in urban farming, promoting an understanding of sustainable agricultural practices in urban environments.
    • Environmental Awareness: We want to raise awareness about the importance of urban gardening and its contribution to local sustainability and food security.
    • Community Engagement: We seek to strengthen the bonds between students, teachers, and parents through a shared educational experience that also benefits our community.
    • Skill Development: Participants will learn practical skills and knowledge related to gardening, composting, and sustainable food production.

    Why This Activity Is Important:

Urban farming is not just about growing vegetables; it's about empowering individuals and communities to take charge of their food sources and make sustainable choices. By participating in this event, our students, teachers, and parents will:

    • Gain a deeper understanding of where their food comes from and the impact of urban farming on local food production.
    • Learn how to create and maintain their own small-scale urban gardens, even in limited spaces.
    • Foster a sense of environmental responsibility and become more connected to nature in an urban environment.
    • Encourage community collaboration and inspire our students to become future advocates for sustainable agriculture.
