ENCODS 2026: Application Form Logo
  • Welcome to ENCODS 2026 and The Brain in Context, in Barcelona!

This year’s theme, “Brain in Context,” examines how genetic, environmental, and internal factors interact to shape brain function and development. The forum brings together researchers from diverse areas of neuroscience including molecular, cellular, cognitive, computational, and clinical approaches, to explore how these influences manifest in neural circuits, behavior, and cognition. Participants will have the opportunity to share their methods, findings, and perspectives, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration. By highlighting the different ways the brain is shaped and understood across fields, the conference aims to create a space where innovative ideas emerge, new collaborations form, and our understanding of the brain becomes richer and more integrative.

Your registration cost is adjusted according to the registration period (early bird, regular, late), FENS membership, FENS FORUM 2026 attendance, and eligibility for a waiver.

    Registration fees:
The standard registration fee is 180 euros for non-FENS members, while FENS members receive a 20% discount. Participants attending FENS Forum 2026 in Barcelona, upon presenting their certificate of registration, will receive a 30% discount, applicable to both non-FENS and FENS members. By registering before 31 of January 2026, you can benefit from early bird fees, which are 140 euros for non-FENS members, with corresponding 20% and 30% discounts for FENS members and FENS Forum attendees.

In line with our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive community, ENCODS 2026 aims to make the conference accessible to individuals from all backgrounds. Subject to the availability of funds, we will offer registration fee waivers and travel grants to participants facing financial challenges or coming from developing countries. This support may be granted even if the applicant is also attending the FENS FORUM.

In the registration form, you will find a dedicated section to submit a petition for a waiver.

Each participant may choose to give a 10-minute talk or present a poster. To apply for either option, submit a PDF that includes a title and an abstract outlining the purpose of your study and its main results. Abstracts should present new, unpublished work that aligns with the meeting’s theme and must fit on a single page. Experimental, theoretical, methodological, and applied research are all encouraged. You may include one optional figure with up to four subpanels, provided it fits on the same page. The abstract should not exceed 350 words, counting references but not the title, author names, or affiliations. If you do not wish to present, please note that you may be asked to do so if the required number of student talks or posters is not reached.
