AVIGuk Cardiff International Conference 2025: Workshop and Poster Application Form
  • AVIGuk Cardiff International Conference 9th October 2025

RAISING OUR VOICES: SHARING THE UNIVERSAL POWER OF VIG
  • Workshop and Poster Application Form

  • AVIGuk is calling for submissions for workshops and posters for the 2025 International Conference on the 9th October at Cardiff All Nations Centre. The workshops and posters will focus on evidencing the impact of VIG, in order to share its universal power.

We aim to share with the audience the myriad of ways that VIG and VERP have been shown to be effective and inclusive, in the UK and internationally. This could be achieved through sharing practitioner's and/or client's voices or other systemic change or evidence. For example qualitative or quantitative data, case studies, testimonials, vlogs, research studies etc.

AVIGuk would like to warmly welcome anyone practising or supervising VIG or VERP, who feels they have something to share. If you plan to include examples of practice, research and/or clinical work through video clips and/or stills, they should be clear, accessible, well lit, and ideally subtitled and/or lip readable.

We will support successful applications, to ensure that the selection of clips to be shown, are accessible and effectively demonstrate VIG principles and method.

Whilst there will not be time to include all workshop submissions on the day, any workshop applications that are not selected, will automatically be eligible for a poster submission. The deadline for both workshop and poster submissions is 1st May 2025. We will to let you know whether or not your application is successful by the 13th May 2025 so you can plan accordingly.

The deadline to have your finished Posters and Workshops will be the 1st September 2025. We appreciate that adjustments may be made to workshops post this deadline. Please message AVIGuk events via the Learning Platform, or email odavies@videointeractionguidance.net if delays are anticipated.

All workshop and poster presenters will still need to register and buy a ticket for the conference, and pay at the appropriate delegate rate (ticket costs will be announced in the next few weeks).

  • What information do we need from you?

The audience will include VIG trainees, practitioners and supervisors, managers and also those hearing about VIG for the first time. Therefore, the purpose of the workshops and posters is to share with the audience the many different ways that VIG and/or VERP has been shown to be effective and inclusive, in the UK and internationally.

If you would like to make a submission to present a poster or workshop at the AVIGuk International Conference 2025 please complete the  form below.

We're very much looking forward to receiving your applications, as we know that there is so much evidence of the univeral power of VIG and VERP work to be shared!

  • Workshop Submissions

Workshops will be allocated 45 minutes on the programme, with an additional 5 minutes for questions at the end (50 minutes total).

  • Useful tip: use a concise, but inclusive, title which clearly conveys what you will be presenting and draws attendees' attention to your topic.

  • Useful tip: Your session abstract will tell Conference Attendees why they should attend your session. To be effective and create interest, it should provide a brief, clear, and concise reflection of your presentation’s content, linking to the conference theme (capturing and sharing evidence regarding the effectiveness and power of VIG). The abstract should only be one paragraph of between 150 to 250 words in length.

  • Useful tip: For the focus of your presentation, outline Your Key Elements. List 4 to 5 primary or key elements of your topic that you will be discussing. Please remember to include how you have shown VIG to be effective, and/or inclusive, and/or included client's or practitioner's voices.

  • Poster Submissions

Posters will be viewable throughout the conference day (9th October 2025). There will also be allocated time for delegates to view the posters, and meet with presenters. Poster presenters will be encouraged to be with their Poster and talk to delegates about their work, during this session. You are welcome to bring your own handouts, leaflets, materials, book copies etc. and/or paper copies of your poster, should you wish to. However, AVIGuk will only cover the cost of printing your Poster.

  • Useful Tips: When it comes to designing a poster, remember it is essentially a 'graphic abstract' or pictorial summary of the work you've done. There are also lots of helpful blogs and websites that can show you how to make a poster that draws people in! The posters will be A1, and can be either landscape or portrait. Please also look at the AVIGuk website for examples of past conference posters.

The AVIGuk team are also here to help, so if your poster submission is selected and you want to get in touch with any questions, please do. Similarly, should you need it, we can put you directly in touch with a graphic designer at the printers we are using. Please contact the AVIGuk Events Team, via the learning platform or odavies@videointeractionguidance.net for further help with this.

Please arrange with, and pay directly, our printers, should you wish to have them graphic design your poster. This service is very good value, and usually takes them about an hour to do. Please contact Matt Porter at matt@heskethpress.com for more information and a quote. NB AVIGuk will arrange and pay for poster printing costs only.
