Join us for the screening of the documentary film "Liga Terezin," which charts the development of a prisoner-run soccer league that took place in the Terezin concentration camp. Thousands showed up to watch the matches between teams, which were made up of both professional and amateur athletes. The soccer games represented a continued hope for survival and the desire to retain humanity throughout the darkest times.
The film interviews former players and explores modern antisemitism within the European soccer culture. Following the film, a conversation with the audience will be moderated by Doug Stark, the former Museum Director of the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
