Policy Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to outline the requirements for students who are leasing a laptop from Lighthouse Christian College. The policy covers the following areas:

• Leasing agreement
  Laptop care and maintenance
  Excess fees for damaged laptops

Leasing Agreement

• Lighthouse Christian College offers a laptop leasing program to students in Years 7 to 12.
• The leasing agreement is for a period of one year.
• Students are responsible for all fees associated with the leasing agreement, including the monthly leasing fee, accidental damage protection, and any excess fees for damaged laptops.
• Students must return the laptop in good condition at the end of the leasing agreement.

Laptop Care and Maintenance:

1. Students are responsible for the proper care and maintenance of their laptops.
2. Laptops must be used for educational purposes only.
3. Students are not allowed to install any software or hardware on their laptops that is not approved by Lighthouse Christian College.
4. Students must not remove any stickers or markings from their laptops.
5. Students must not damage their laptops in any way.
6. Lighthouse Christian College reserves the right to install security software on the leased laptops to protect against theft or unauthorized use.
7. Students are not allowed to tamper with or disable any security features.

 

Excess Fees for Damaged Laptops

1. Parents will be charged an excess fee of $1000 if their child's laptop is damaged beyond repair.
2. The excess fee will be used to cover the cost of repairing or replacing the damaged laptop.
3. Parents will be notified in writing if their child's laptop has been damaged and if they are liable for an excess fee.

Compliance:

1. Students and parents/guardians are expected to read and comply with this Laptop Leasing Policy.
2. Non-compliance may result in the revocation of laptop privileges and additional disciplinary actions.

Additional Notes:

• Lighthouse Christian College reserves the right to terminate the leasing agreement if a student breaches the terms of the agreement.
• Lighthouse Christian College is not responsible for any loss or theft of laptops.
