RISK WARNING
You should be aware that there are risks of injury associated with playing cricket, as there are with most sports. Risk will arise in the context of the activities of batting, bowling and fielding. While the Club aims to minimise risks, it is not possible to eliminate them all. On some occasions, an injury can be serious (such as torn ligaments, dislocations, back injuries, concussion or broken bones). In very rare cases the injury can be life threatening or result in permanent disability. If a participant has a pre-existing injury, participating in a sporting activity could result in an exacerbation of that injury. It is also strongly recommended by the Club that personal insurance be taken out by participants. On registering the participant also gives permission for the club to arrange any medical attention that may be required, including ambulance transport and agree to pay all medical costs incurred by him/her. On registering you as the player or the players parent/guardian acknowledge and understand the risk warning and exclusion of liability on this Disclaimer and give permission for the participant registering to participate in the above activity/training/game/event. INDEMNITY On registering, you as the player or the players parent/guardian hereby agree that the GOLDEN SQUARE CRICKET AND SPORTS CLUB INC. HELMETS AND SAFETY
The wearing of a helmet and appropriate safety equipment is compulsory for all junior players while batting, fielding within close proximity of the batter (when applicable), and when wicket-keeping up to the stumps. The Club also recommends all senior players to wear helmets and appropriate safety equipment while batting, fielding within close proximity of the batter, and while wicket- keeping up to the stumps. It is recommended that players and/or parents having any concerns regarding helmets and/or protectors, they should purchase such from a recognized supplier and ensure that the purchase meets Australian Standards. In addition, the Club expects all players to take responsibility for their own safety by observing instructions, rules and guidelines, by wearing compulsory safety equipment when applicable and by behaving in a safe and responsible manner towards other participants, officials, property and grounds. The club recommends that all players use their own equipment to avoid injury and will not be responsible for any equipment failure.
