  • SPECIAL EVENT PLAN REVIEW /PERMIT APPLICATION

  • This permit application is for special events including exhibits, craft shows, trade shows, carnivals, fairs, fireworks displays, tents, and other temporary public assembly functions in the Metro Fire District.

     The following information must accompany this application: 

    ·         Scaled site plan showing vehicle parking, traffic patterns, emergency vehicle access, and fire lanes.

    ·         Scaled floor plan showing floor plan layout, exit locations, egress aisles and widths, interior finishes flame spread/ smoke developed ratings, and fire extinguisher locations.

  • *A complete diagram of the event site shall be submitted with this application, including the following: location of all tents with distance dimensions from other tents and/or structures, fire department access roads, location of food vendors, location of bonfire pits. Diagram of the inside of tents showing seating, stages, food areas, including aisle widths. An explanation of whether sides will be used on the tents. If pyrotechnics will be used, a complete drawing of the crowd viewing area, where fireworks will be deployed, and the fallout area.

    Special event Plan Review Fees (no fee discount, available in district only)

    includes temporary tents/membrane structures, carnivals/fairs, exhibits/trade shows, fireworks displays or any other large assembly function.

    $188.00 per event includes plan review and one (1) inspection during normal business hours.

    For inspection requests during non-normal business hours add $196.00 per hour, minimum 2 hour charge to permit fee.  Must be paid prior to inspection.

    Additional inspections 

    $157.00 per hour, one (1) hour minimum during business hours.

    $196.00 per hour, two (2) hour minimum for inspections during non-normal business hours.
