Since its founding in 1912, the Garden Club of Cleveland (GCC) has been dedicated to stimulating the knowledge and love of gardening and to improving and protecting our environment through conservation and civic improvement. PURPOSE OF GCC’s SEEDING GROWTH GRANT
The Garden Club of Cleveland aspires to make meaningful community impact by funding a special Seeding Growth project each year.
APPLYING FOR SEEDING GROWTH FUNDING
The following will serve as a guide to prepare a Seeding Growth Grant application. For more information, please contact Katie Outcalt at katieoutcalt@yahoo.com.
Please note that a single project will be chosen to receive GCC's Seeding Growth Grant each year. That project will receive up to the full amount of funds available for the year.
APPLICATION TIMELINE
January 5th |
Grant applications posted on GCC website. |
March 1st |
Grant application deadline via online form. |
March / April |
Site visits possible; GCC will contact those selected for site visit. |
Mid-June |
GCC members vote to select Seeding Growth project grantee at Club’s Annual Meeting. |
By June 30th |
Grantee is notified and funding distributed. |
By Nov 30th |
Grantee expected to provide a report on the impact of their grant. |
COMPETITIVE PROJECTS WILL ...
- have a clearly defined objective, including description of how it aligns with GCC’s mission.
- present an exciting and viable opportunity for community impact.
- have a sound financial plan and explanation for how grant funds will be used.
- acknowledge what is required for project maintenance and how sustainability will be assured.
- explain if there are additional funding sources required or/and secured.
- have clear plan to recognize GCC's Seeding Growth support.
- be available for a site visit if contacted by GCC’s Special Projects Committee.
COMPETITIVE PROJECTS WILL NOT ...
- be an endowment, scholarship, or feasibility study.
- be applied for general operating expenses that are not associated with a particular project.
