Chamber Champion Program's
(Funding from our Elite Sponsors helps support these programs in lieu of general sponsorships)
Bikes for Kids - This program provides a bike and helmet to support kids in grades K-6 that has the potential to achieve greater things or have overcome a learning obstacle during the school year. The student is selected by the school staff and is presented with their bike and helmet during the end-of-the-year awards programs. Sponsors for this program will be recognized in all supporting marketing materials.
Books for Kids - The chamber provides a book for each kid that attends our Trunk-or-Treat and Pictures with Santa. These are holiday-focused books to encourage youth literacy, we handed out 800 books for 2023.
Chamber Scholarship Program - The chamber strives each year to support the youth of our community that is seeking secondary education, we have invested nearly $85,000.00 in the last 5 years for scholarships. Support from partners like you, allows us to provide an opportunity to these kids who don’t always meet the needs of larger scholarships. Funds for this program are raised at our Awards Banquet live auction and Golf Tournament, along with our Elite Sponsorship participants. Sponsors for this program will be recognized in all supporting marketing materials.
End of Summer Celebration Community Night Out - This celebration is a great opportunity to interact with our local first responders and enjoy the last few days of summer with your community members before school is back in session and our warmer days come to an end. Fireworks are paid for by a donation from Morrow County Unified Rec District. This event draws around 1000 people to our Boardman Marina Park.
Entertainment at Morrow County Harvest Festival (organized by SAGE Center) - As a major event in our county, held the 1st Saturday of October, with a focus of being a FREE, Fun, Kid-Focused event for families, the event draws in around 2000 people annually. The Chamber's support of entertainment makes this an opportunity to provide support to our local economy and tourism. We are pleased each year to cover the cost of the entertainment for the MC Harvest Festival and support our partner, The SAGE Center.
Trunk-or-Treat - Held each year in the parking lot of the SAGE Center, we gather local businesses and residents to decorate their vehicles for a fun evening celebrating Halloween. The chamber provides most kids that attend a book, books for kids used to be provided by our local Kiwanis that is no longer in our community. Youth literature is important to support, and we love to give back to the youth of our community. We usually see around 900 kids participating in our evening.
Community Christmas Tree Lighting - We gather each year on the 1st Saturday of December to light our community tree, start the light show at the SAGE Center, and watch our local preschool perform its annual Christmas show. Participants can enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, and pictures with Santa. As we continue our tradition of books for kids, we provide a book to each child that takes a picture with Santa.
