Program Overview

Inspired by the principles of Ujamaa, which is a Swahili word meaning "familyhood" or "community", the Ujamaa Youth Corps (UYC) aims to empower youth by providing them with job training opportunities as well as fostering a sense of community and self-empowerment.  Opportunities are available in the following areas: Immigration Legal, New Arrival Resettlement, Accounting/Finance, Program Evaluation & Impact, Communications, Technology.
Eligibility to apply:

Applicant must be:
- Recent graduate who has completed, within the previous two years, a degree or certificate from a higher educational institution.
- Committed and willing to perform assigned work project
Duration

The UYC will hire and train participants for one (1) year.
Benefits

The UYC affords successful participants opportunities for skill development, mentorship, civic engagement, policy research and advocacy, case management, and career advancement.
- An annual salary/stipend will be provided for the program.
- Participants may be converted to a permanent position upon completion of the program. To be eligible for conversion, participants must have:
  - Successfully completed and met all program requirements.
  - Demonstrated successful job performance.
  - Met the qualifications for the position to which the participant will be converted.
