THE SPRING OPEN 5th - 22nd February 2025

We invite artists of all ages, professional and amateur, to submit original work in any medium (except film) on the theme of SPRING. That doesn’t mean you can’t enter Snowdrop images, but you are also free to create art inspired by the season. 

Artists may enter up to two works. All entries will be accepted providing they adhere to the conditions below. NB We will close entries at 150 artworks due to space restrictions.

The artwork can be 2 or 3 dimensional and in any medium apart from digital prints of originals or moving image. For 2-dimensional work the maximum size limit is 80cmx80cm. For 3-dimensional work the maximum size is 50cm in any dimension. There is no minimum size limit.

2D work must be framed with D rings attached to the back of the frame and strong chord (no wire), NO clip frames will be accepted. 3D work should be stable and suitable to display on the gallery plinths.

The artwork must be for sale. Sale prices should be inclusive of 25% commission (no commission for under 18s).

Artwork must not have been shown in previous ‘Snowdrop in Art’ or 'Spring Open' exhibitions.

EXHIBITION OPENS  Wednesday 5th February (open daily 10am - 4pm)

PRIVATE VIEW  Friday 7th February 5pm - 7pm

EXHIBITION ENDS Saturday 22nd February

COLLECTION of unsold works Sunday 23rd February 10am - 12pm

£10 per artwork entered (non-refundable)

Under 18’s FREE - entries must be made by individuals (parents for under 16s) not collectively by schools.

MAXIMUM 20 per artist. Cards should be related to the theme.

Please label each card clearly with artist name and price. NO packs of cards or deals (e.g. 3 for £5).

Commission on all sales is 25%. There is no commission for under 18s. 

Please note: Card transactions are processed by Square Payments. Card details are sent securely to Square Payments and are not captured on this form. You will receive a receipt at the email address entered above once the payment is processed, following submission of the form.

The Gallery Team will curate and hang this exhibition. Team members reserve the right to refuse work that is not suitably presented. 

The Gallery Team will provide digital publicity material which exhibitors are encouraged to share on social media or by printing out as flyers or posters to display in their locality.

Please note - there is no storage available for work delivered before the hand-in day nor left after the collection day. Agreeing to T&Cs means that you will deliver and collect at the times shown on this form.

Shaftesbury Arts Centre take no responsibility for any loss or damage to art works displayed in either gallery from the time it is delivered until it is collected at the end of the exhibition. The Gallery Team can advice on insuring work if required.

In the event of a sale your bank details wil be requested and Shaftesbury Arts Centre will pay the balance by bank transfer, after commission has been deducted, within one month of the end of the exhibition. Failure to provide accurate information will lead to delay in payment.
