    We require all applicants once approved to complete a 2 week trial to ensure it is the right fit for your family. After 2 weeks we send the contract to finalize the adoption! In the case you wish to return the pet in those 2 weeks, the adoption fee will be fully refundable.

  •                            Adoption Policies

    • Please review prior to submitting an adoption application:
    • Lifetime Commitment: A decision to adopt a pet means you have made a decision to care for that pet for its entire life. Please think through this extremely important decision before you apply to adopt. A pet becomes a family member. A responsible pet owner/guardian makes life decisions to include their pets. Our goal is permanent placement.
    •  Beyond The Pack reserves the right to refuse placement of any animal for any reason.
    • Adopters must be at least 20 years of age.
    • We adopt animals primarily to families residing in the Fort Myers, Florida area (exceptions may apply). 
    •  All pets adopted from BTP must reside with you in your living space and not be left unattended outside or in non-residential buildings.
    •  All adults of the household must agree before adopting an animal and all members of the household must meet the animal prior to adoption (exceptions may apply).
    • All animals presently in your care must be spayed or neutered (exceptions may apply).
    • All dogs and cats currently in your care must be current with rabies vaccine and dogs must be on heartworm preventative treatment (exceptions may apply).
    • If you are renting your home or are in a condo association, we will ask you to verify that there are no restrictions on breed or number of animals in your lease agreement.
    • BTP does not adopt animals as gifts, unless all people have met the animal.
    • • All animals are the sole custody of BTP until a finalized adoption contract is signed.
    • If at any time after an adoption you are unable to keep the pet for any reason, BTP MUST be notified and transfer must be approved by BTP before any change of ownership.
    •  Misrepresentations on an application will automatically disqualify you from adoption.
    • On occasion there is considerable interest in an animal. BTP will accept only one application for a pet at a time.  Any subsequent applications will be considered as a backup.
    •  Once an adoption is approved, you will start a 2 week foster to adopt process to ensure the pet is the right fit for your family. At the end of the 2 weeks we will send over the contracts for finalization and release all paperwork to the new owner
    • The adoption fee will act as a deposit for the 2 week trial and can be returned only if pet comes back to the rescue. After the 2 weeks the fee is no longer refundable.
    •  BTP is not responsible for a pet or any damages caused by pet once adoption is completed or during the foster to adopt process.

    • I understand that Beyond The Pack Rescue spends a minimum of $250 in vetting costs per intake, & adoption fees are donations towards care & medical needs to continue to help each rescue dog who takes the place of an adopted one.
