  • Chair of the Inclusion Committee - Culture Alliance

Help Wanted: A Community Builder with a Heart for Inclusion

Friends of Herriman needs YOU. Well, maybe not everyone reading this, but if you’re someone who wants to make a real impact, keep reading.

    What’s the Role?

You’d be stepping in as the Chair of the Inclusion Committee for Friends of Herriman Culture Alliance. That means you’ll be leading efforts to create events, initiatives, and opportunities that bring people together—especially those in our community who often feel unseen or unheard. The focus? Supporting our immigrant, neurodivergent, minority, and less-abled neighbors.

    What You’ll Actually Do

✔ Build community—connect with residents, businesses, and city leaders to create a more inclusive Herriman.
✔ Plan and grow events—like our already-established Herriman Smiles project and partnerships with the Columbus Center. And if you have ideas? Even better. You get to shape what inclusion looks like in our city.
✔ Recruit and lead—you won’t do this alone. There are already a few dedicated volunteers, but you’ll be the driving force behind growing this team.
✔ Fundraise & advocate—you’ll have a budget to work with, but raising awareness (and some extra funds) will help expand the committee’s impact.
✔ Listen & act—you’ll have an ear to the ground, making sure our initiatives truly meet the needs of Herriman’s diverse residents.
    Who’s the Right Fit?

We’re not looking for fancy resumes. We’re looking for heart, hustle, and leadership. If you:

✔ Believe in making real change—not just talking about it.
✔ Know how to bring people together and make them want to help.
✔ Have connections (or know how to build them).
✔ Are a natural leader—but one who listens first.
✔ Want the freedom to create something meaningful from the ground up.
    What’s in It for You?

✔ The chance to lead a movement that makes Herriman a better place for everyone.
✔ Real impact—not just meetings and talk, but action.
✔ A flexible, community-driven role where you get to shape the vision.
✔ The support of a passionate team (and a budget to make things happen).
    How to Get Involved

If this speaks to you, or if you know exactly the person we’re looking for, reach out! We’re ready to build something amazing—are you?
