    2026 Canada Powerlifting and Bench Press Championship

  • -Your CanPL membership must be current at the time of registration.  

    IMPORTANT!!

    You MUST have an Elite CanPL Membership to be eligible to compete at CanPL Nationals.

    Please ensure when you register or renew your CanPL Membership that you select the Membership option applicable (Elite or Performance).  If you have mistakenly selected the wrong membership type (E or P) please email registrar@powerlifting.ca within 24 hours of registration to correct.  

    - All qualifying totals must be attained by the date of the 21 day weight class cut-off  (23:59 NT, February 16, 2026)

    -Picture ID along with a copy of your CanPL membership card, and a copy of yourt valid CCES certificate will need to be presented to the weigh-in official. If you do not have a picture ID you will not be permitted to compete.

    -At CanPL National and Regional Championships, the IPF rule of no weight or age class changes within 21 days of the event will be observed.

    -Warm Up Area is only for lifters and their coach(es).

    -Coaching will be limited to one (1) coach per unequipped lifter and two (2) coaches per equipped lifter. No exceptions.

    -Coaches and handlers must wear athletic apparel, including athletic attire, close-toed athletic shoes and sport bottoms (No Jeans) while coaching or handling athletes. Hats, sleeveless tops, and any attire that is unclean, torn or is in anyway deemed to be inappropriate by CanPL officials are strictly forbidden. 

    -This is a drug-tested competition. Once a lifter has purchased a CanPL membership, they accept the CADP drug-testing procedure IN FULL.

    Open to all CanPL Special O, Para, Youth 3, Sub-Junior, Junior, Open, and Master registrants in good standing that have met their Provincial, Regional and CanPL National requirements.

                 First Event - Full Price. Additional Event - $20.00 Discount

    3 Lift (Raw/Equipped): $275.00

    Bench Only: $200.00

    Youth, Special Olympics and Para Powerlifting: $200.00


    Banquet $75.00  (Optional but must be purchased at entry).

    Refunds, for legitimate reasons, will be provided after the registration date as follows:

    December 15, 2025 - January 14, 2026: 50%

    January 15, 2026 - February 14, 2026: 25%

    There will be no refunds after 12:00am, February 15, 2026

  • Qualifying Totals

    Date and Event you achieved the National Qualifying Total - If you do not have a qualifying total at the time of registration enter N/A in the field. Note that you must have that total before the weight change date of the championships (23:59 NT, February 15, 2025) as per the CanPL policies: 17.2 All registrants wishing to compete in Regional or National championships must meet the qualifying totals 24 months prior to the date of the intended championships. 17.4 At CanPL Regional and National Championships, athletes cannot change their entered age and weight class after 21 days before the contest starts. If you have not yet achieved a qualifying total, please email the meet directors once this has been accomplished. If this step is not taken, you will be at risk of not being able to compete. If you do not reach the qualifying total by the 21 day cut-off, you will not be able to compete and no refunds will be given.
