Australian Volleyball Super League
The Australian Volleyball Super League (AVSL) is scheduled September to October 2024, as a result Volleyball Queensland is planning to enter the Pirates womens and mens teams. The AVSL format will deliver the Women's and Men's games in a tight period such as 2.5 hours for a better spectator/broadcasting experience. To achieve this the changes to match format will include;
- One match per gender a weekend that will be compulsory 5 sets played to 18 points
- No time outs
- Shorter break between sets
- A form of 'bonus' points in each set. i.e Coach/Captain call for their power play whereby for 3 serves each rally is played for two points instead of one.
Trials and training for the 2024 Pirates Program is expected to commence in June 2024.
This application is to identify candidates who can fulfil Head Coach (Highly Desired Level 3) and support roles for each of the women's and men's Pirates teams.
All appointments will be approved by the Volleyball Queensland Board.
Applications will close on Friday 23rd February, 2024.
