  • Brave Conversations 2024

    Brave Conversations aims to bring together members of our community from disparate backgrounds in order to discover commonalities that help to eliminate bias, foster solidarity and empathy, and build a more tolerant, non-partisan, Rochester. Our pilot program under this initiative, called the Rekindle Rochester Fellowship, recently graduated its first cohort on October 3rd. Co-facilitated by Monica Gebell and diversity consultant/educator Taj Smith, four non-Black Jews and five non-Jewish Black/African Americans participated in four, semi-weekly, two and a half-hour sessions to discuss the past, present, and future of Black-Jewish relationships and allyship in Rochester. We are now conducting additional pilot groups for Brave Conversations in spring 2024. Fill out this form to apply to become a Brave Conversations Fellow.
