LMS Athletics Expectations
The athletic program at LMS serves as an outlet for students to develop social skills, self-discipline, an self- esteem, while perfecting the physical skills and abilities to become better student-athletes.
Students playing on any team muat first display exemplary sportsmanship. It is our desire to have an athletic program where excellence in all areas is the standard. All students and parents will be expected to adhere to the following expectations set forth by our school administration:

1.Students will serve as exemplary role models on and off campus and adhere to all school rules and school-wide values.
2. Positive and appropriate manners, behavior, and attitude will be displayed at all times.
3. Respect is basic. Respect is mutual. It must be initially given and maintained by all involved.
4. LMS athletics are a training ground for life, therefore the ultimate goal of athletics is to prepare student-athletes to become successful adults. With that being said, student-athletes should expect challenges and learn options for meeting and surpassing those challenges.
5. Principal Reed can and will remove students from participating in any/or all sports when deemed necessary.
6. Failure to complete assignments, projects or receive unacceptable grades (C averages and above) will cause probation, suspension, and/or dismissal of student-athletes.
a.A grade of D or F on a Progress Report will result in student-athlete participating in tutoring during Homeroom and athletic practice times, on a weekly basis, until unacceptable grades are satisfactory.
b.A grade of D or F on a Report Card (with all school protocol properly followed) will result in suspension or dismissal from team.
7.Discipline for athletes with multiple unsatisfactory grades or behavioral infractions will be according to the LMS discipline demerit protocol or at the principal's discretion. Please refer to Expectation 5.
8.Athletic practices and conditioning are fundamental to athletic success and should be expected! Two unexcused/uncommunicated absences from official practices or games will result in dismissal from the team.
9. Students will be responsible for all items issued by the school.
10. Students will be required to make financial contributions and participate in fundraising activities to support and offset athletic program expenses.
11. Though all practices are CLOSED to adult spectators, POSITIVE parental support will be highly encouraged at games. All meetings with coaches should be requested through administration and never through an impromptu request at practices or games.
12. Parents will be responsible for always having transportation arrive on time from practices and games.
