Farrier Service

Feet are to be in good condition for the service being provided. If unsure please contact me and I will take a look. If the horse needs a trim/shoes while in training, the owner is responsible for cost and contact of the farrier. Horses will be on a 6-8 week schedule for trims.

Unhandled horses will be foot trained and have their feet trimmed at owners expense. Cost is $45.00 for a full trim from Reverse K Farrier Services.

Vaccinations

All horses coming onto the property are required to have received at least one dose of the 5 way or 4-way vaccine 2 weeks prior to arrival and have been dewormed within one month of arrival.
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

Is there a specific vet you would like me to contact? If not, West Hills vet will be contacted. Owner of the horse is responsible for cost and care of any injury or sickness while the horse is in training with SJS Horse Training and Sales. If horse becomes sick while in training and a 5 panel test is required to investigate, horse owner is required to cover the cost.

INJURY/ILLNESS

I acknowledge that my horse will be boarded with other horses and am aware that horses fight and may cause injury to each other.

I am also aware that horses are at risk of injury/sickness during training. Owner is responsible for any injury/sickness that may arise.

If your horse injures itself or becomes sick and you decide to take the horse home, money will not be refunded. Special circumstances can be discussed if the horse sustains major injuries or life threatening injuries and cannot finish training, a training credit could be arranged and the horse may return when fully recovered. Any questions, just ask!

FACILITY

Horse(s) will be trained out of a private arena, located near Stony Plain, AB. This facility & SJS Horse Training and Sales are NOT responsible for ANY injury or sickness while the horse is on the property. Facility is not responsible for any damage made by the horse (in some cases the owner may be responsible for the cost of repairs

SPECIAL FEED

Any special feed (cubes/grain/mineral, etc is required to be supplied by owner if the horse(s) arrives with a body condition score lower than 5/9 or if requested by owner.

Boarding Information and Pricing

$498.75 (includes GST) per month per horse in training (Group Pen)

$603.75 (includes GST) per month per horse in training (Private Pen)

This is to be paid on the day the horse arrives. Non-Refundable Any Additional days that the horse stays over the monthly cost will be $30.00/day. Try to make a plan for a pick-up day before horses training is complete to ensure no extra charges. Horse does not leave the property and care of SJS Horse Training and Sales until all Board and Training Fees are up to date.

Payment

Training and board is to be paid on or before the day that the horse arrives. Training will not begin until payment is received. Late payment will result in a $50 surcharge.

A $200.00 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot in training, if deposit is not recieved, your spot will not be booked. This deposit goes towards total cost of training upon arrival of horse.

CONSIGNMENT

10% of sale and training/conditioning price while in training. If horse is sold using pictures/video from SJS, but owner made the sale after horse left training, only 5% is required. If trainer made the sale, 10%. Any questions if confused, don't be afraid to ask.
