  • PROPOSED CHANGES TO REGISTRATION CATEGORIES: After testing various registration methods, we're considering three categories for next year: SCHOOLS, LIBRARIES, and THE PUBLIC. In this new system, registered participants manage their own points. Teachers will register their classrooms and oversee the entry of reading points, as will families, groups, clubs, and individuals. Participating libraries, meanwhile, will receive program materials to enhance their offerings and will earn points for their efforts in promoting the program, and organizing programming and literacy events. By implementing this new registration system, our goal is to ensure fairness in the program. Classrooms with similar size and composition will compete against each other, while individuals and small groups will compete within their own category. Likewise, libraries will compete against other libraries. This approach aims to create equitable competition across all participating entities. The intention behind altering the library participation method is to foster a more authentic and enriching experience, empowering libraries to truly showcase their strengths and contributions. What do you think about these proposed changes to the reading program registration process?
