RIDESHARE ELECTRIC VEHICLE HOME-CHARGING AGREEMENT
All at-home charging of Pierce Transit Rideshare electric vehicles must be done in full accordance with vehicle manufacturer's recommendations for charging, as published in the vehicle owner's manual or as found on the vehicle manufacturer's website. Pierce Transit has established the following requirements for at-home charging of Pierce Transit Rideshare electric vehicles.
By signing this Home Charging Agreement, I hereby agree that I will charge the vehicle by (i) plugging the mobile connector cord supplied into a standard receptacle on a circuit that meets or exceeds all manufacturer's load requirements, and safety. Pierce Transit recommends the electric vehicle be plugged into a power source dedicated solely to charging of the vehicle, or (ii) using dedicated Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment ("EVSE") installed in accordance with the EVSE manufacturer's requirements and which equipment meets or exceeds all minimum requirements for the vehicle to be charged.
I understand that using the supplied NEMA 5-15 Adapter for the Tesla Mobile Connector is a relatively slow charging setup. Using a standard outlet, you can charge up to 3 miles of range per hour with the NEMA 5-15 Adapter.
Using a level 2 outlet you can charge up to 30 miles of range per hour with the NEMA 14-50 Adapter.
I hereby confirm that I have proprietary access to off-street parking in close enough proximity to a charging outlet or EVSE to allow the use of a 220/240v charging system or dedicated EVSE. I will directly connect the vehicle to the appropriate charging outlet or EVSE without the use of any extension cord. I will not charge the vehicle in proximity to any flammable materials. If my at-home charging location is an apartment, condo, or other multi-family residence, by signing this Agreement, I confirm that I have a safe, dedicated, assigned off-street parking location with charging infrastructure and access as described in this Home Charging Agreement.
If my at-home charging location is a rental property, such as a house, apartment or condo where I am not the owner of record, I agree to receive permission for electric vehicle charging from the property owner unless permission is already specifically granted in my lease/rental agreement.
By signing this Home Charging Agreement, I hereby confirm that I have read and understand the manufacturer's instructions and agree that I will use the supplied mobile connector set in full accordance with those instructions. I will ensure that while the vehicle is charging, the cord is routed in such a way to avoid being snagged, crushed, driven on, tripped over, or damaged in any way. If I am charging the vehicle outdoors, I will ensure the cord lock feature (if equipped) is engaged to prevent theft. I agree that I will not use any cord that has been damaged, or otherwise could create a risk of fire, electrocution, or damage to the vehicle and will immediately contact Pierce Transit if the cord becomes damaged or is lost or stolen.
I agree that if I elect to charge the vehicle in any location other than my home, I will only use a public or employer-provided dedicated electric vehicle charging station and will follow all vehicle and EVSE manufacturers' instructions for charging. I agree not to overload the outlets. I agree to inform any other Pierce Transit approved driver(s) intending to home-charge the rideshare electric vehicle at their residence(s), that they must also have a signed Home Charging Agreement on file with Pierce Transit, before providing a vehicle key. I agree that only Pierce Transit approved drivers will operate the electric vehicle.
If I am no longer able to meet the requirements described in this Home Charging Agreement, I agree that I will immediately (i) cease at-home charging of the vehicle, and (ii) notify Pierce Transit of the change in circumstances.
