LC Valley Teen HALO Program February-April 2024

HALO Program is a ten-week intensive counseling program for families with teens. HALO Program activities can be divided into three categories: Trauma Education Classes (TEC), HALO Teen Group, and Family Sessions. Altogether, the family receives 50 hours of therapy during the 10 weeks (20 hours of group for the caregivers, 20 hours of group for the teens, and 10 hours for each individual family together). It is important that families with two caregivers register both caregivers.
Trauma Education Classes (TEC)
Caregivers participate in 10 weeks of Trauma Education Classes. Classes are limited to 12 caregivers and each class is 2 hours in duration (from 6:00-8:00 PM). Classes teach connecting, empowering, and correcting principles and rely heavily on TBRI® DVDs, experiential exercises, group discussion, and role-play. TEC is facilitated by a licensed therapist.
HALO Teen Group
Teens participate in HALO Teen Group once a week for 10 weeks. HALO Teen Group occurs from 3:30-5:30 pm. HALO Teen Group activities are designed to facilitate emotional expression, self-regulation, and connection with peers. Teen group is facilitated by a licensed therapist.
Family Therapy Sessions
Caregivers and teen participate in family therapy sessions with a licensed therapist once a week for 10 weeks. These sessions focus on strengthening connection through activities using the TBRI® Connecting Principles, problem-solving specific behaviors, and role-playing TBRI® skills learned in class. Therapy includes a variety of modalities, including Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and Family Systems therapy.
Cost
Due to a generous grant from the Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation, there is no cost for the caregiver TEC and Teen Group. If possible, the therapist will bill your family's insurance for the family therapy sessions. If you have a co-pay, you are asked to pay that small portion. If your HALO therapist does not accept your insurance, scholarships may be available.
Please complete the application and submit to Homes of Hope. DEADLINE: January 19, 2024
