PIERCE TRANSIT ELECTRIC VEHICLE DRIVER AGREEMENT
The items listed below are requirements specific to the issuance of an Electric Vehicle and apply to all drivers:
- The Primary Driver must understand and agree to all the conditions outlined below and ensure all other group members also comply.
- All drivers must read, understand, and agree to, by signing, all the conditions below before operating the EV.
- All drivers, prior to issuance, must attend an in-person orientation with Pierce Transit's Rideshare Team to become familiar with the use and features of the EV. This may include an on-the-road trial. At the discretion of Pierce Transit's Rideshare Team, the orientation process mentioned above can be performed by the Primary Driver or other driver if it is deemed, they have sufficient familiarity with a Tesla or similar vehicle.
- The EV must be parked overnight at an approved driver's residence due to vandalism and charging requirements. The residence must be able to provide off-street parking such as a driveway or garage where the EV will be parked when not in use and/or connected to the charger.
- The EV charging cord must be connected directly to the outlet without the use of extension cords or any other connection device.
- Lost or damaged charging cords and attachments (other than normal wear & tear) will be the financial responsibility of the group/or person responsible for the damage or loss.
- Although not required, Tesla suggests plugging the vehicle in every evening to top-off the battery. Charging at night is optimal, when rates are lower. Catch-up charging on the weekends will assure you have ample charge for your commute at the beginning of your work week.
- You may charge the vehicle at work if charging stations are made available to you. Pierce Transit will provide a ChargePoint card to charge the vehicle at a ChargePoint location. No reimbursement or charging subsidy will be issued. If you opt to use another public charging station, the cost will be your responsibility."
- Each driver is responsible for familiarizing themselves, via the Owner's Manual, with all the features, abilities, do's & don'ts, as well as warnings and warning symbols on the vehicle to assure proper operation.
- These vehicles are not self-driving. While they do offer certain driving assist features, you as a driver must remain alert and in control, with hands on the steering wheel of the vehicle always.
- These vehicles are still a part of the Rideshare program and as such, are still governed by all driver/rider responsibilities listed in the Pierce Transit Rideshare/Vanpool Participant Agreement, Driver Application, Orientation forms and Rider agreements that you were required to read, initial and/or sign to become a member of our program, unless otherwise noted.
- I hereby certify that I will abide by the above policies/procedures for use of a Pierce Transit Electric Vehicle. I understand that disregard for these policies & procedures could be grounds for removal of the electric vehicle from the group.
