Have you explored and are practicing processing your own feelings with regard to the state of the world: climate crisis, social injustices, ecocide?
Can you sit with other people and their big feelings without trying to fix them?
Are you willing to hold potentially tense, painful, or triggering spaces for people with a commitment to minimize harm?
Can you hold space for folks who don't think like you?
Do you see the connections between racial capitalism, ecocide, and the climate crisis? If not, are you open to learning more about the intersections of these crises?
Are you prepared to learn facilitation best practices as well as theory and philosophy about each of the 10-Steps?
Are you tech savvy enough to navigate Zoom, an online learning platform (Mighty Networks), google docs, and WhatsApp?
Are you willing to work individually and as a part of a team?
While we believe everyone can facilitate, there are a certain skillset and demeanor that is both innate and grows with practice. Not everyone is a good fit for Good Grief Network's modality and we ask that you sit with these questions with honesty and grit before filling out our application.
